Team Member Spotlight: Austin Hodges – District Manager
Go Store It Self-Storage, a Madison Capital Group Holdings, LLC subsidiary, is proud to announce Austin Hodges’s promotion from General Manager to District Manager. Austin has been a Go Store It team member in the Asheville, North Carolina market for three years. “Having grown my career within the self-storage industry, it is a privilege to now help others do the same,” says Beau Agnello, Chief Operating Officer of Go Store It. “We want those that represent our values and culture leading the company as we continue to expand. Austin has been an important piece to our success, and I couldn’t be happier to see him take this next step as a District Manager.”
Hodges began his career with the company as an Assistant Property Manager, became a Property Manager, and then took a leadership role in the Asheville market as a General Manager from November 2021 to March 2024. In March 2024, he was promoted to District Manager, overseeing properties in Georgia, Tennessee, and Western North Carolina.
Outside of his role at Go Store It, he enjoys hiking in the WNC mountains with his fiancé, driving sports cars and working on his own car, traveling, collecting CDs / vinyl records, and seeing his favorite bands perform live.
As he grows his career with the company, he will utilize his extensive storage background and experience to lead his district to success. We recently sat down with him to reflect on his time with Go Store It and discuss his goals and hopes in his new role.
What do you hope to accomplish or learn in your new position?
- To grow a team of successful managers and facility technicians.
- To complete projects efficiently, effectively, on time, and under budget.
- To drive revenue by optimizing all rentable square footage.
- To enhance the customer experience by ensuring that properties are kept clean, functional, and safe.
What’s one of your fondest/favorite memories of working at Go Store It?
One of my fondest memories was my first business trip with GSI. I was a general manager at the time, and I traveled to Cincinnati with my District Manager to onboard two new properties that we acquired from Extra Space. I learned a lot about the acquisition process, and I had a great time meeting new people and seeing new places.
What is one thing you haven’t done but want to do as a team member at Go Store It?
I would like to visit every Go Store It and BlueGate property; so far, I have visited 33 out of 102!
